HOCKEY NOVA SCOTIA LAUNCHES TWO CONTESTS AHEAD OF RIVALRY SERIES

Hey Nova Scotia hockey teams, one of the greatest rivalries in sports is coming to Nova Scotia and you have a chance be on the ice with some of the best players on the planet!

The Rivalry Series featuring the national women’s teams of Canada and the USA is coming to Halifax on February 6, 2025. As part of the excitement, Hockey Nova Scotia is proud to announce two new contests that will give young players in Nova Scotia the chance to shine on the international stage.

CHEER TO PLAY CONTEST

It’s time to get your team amped up and ready to show some love for Team Canada!

The Cheer to Play Contest invites U7 teams and U9 Female Hockey and Minor Hockey teams registered with Hockey Nova Scotia to submit a video of their best team cheer in support of Team Canada. Here’s how you can enter:

·         Create a video showcasing your team cheer.

·         Share it on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), or Instagram.

·         Like, follow, and tag Hockey Nova Scotia in your post.

·         Alternatively, you can email a link to your video submission to communications@hockeynovascotia.ca.

Don’t forget to include the following details in your submission:

  • Team Name
  • Association
  • Level (e.g., U7, U9, etc.)

Your teams could win this unforgettable opportunity to participate in an intermission game during the Rivalry Series!

KINDNESS TO CARRY THE FLAG CONTEST

With the holiday season upon us, there is no better time to celebrate the power of kindness – and earn a chance to carry the Canadian and US flags during the pre-game ceremony of the Rivalry Series, too!

The Kindness to Carry the Flag Contest is open to all U11 and above players who are playing on a Minor Hockey or Female Hockey team that is registered with Hockey Nova Scotia.

To enter:

  • Share your act of kindness (e.g., donating to a food bank) on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), or Instagram.
  • Like, follow, and tag Hockey Nova Scotia in your post.
  • Alternatively, you can email your act of kindness to communications@hockeynovascotia.ca.

Make sure your submission includes:

  • Your Team Name
  • Your Association
  • Level (e.g., U15 AA)

DEADLINE TO SUBMIT YOUR ENTRY

The deadline for both contests is Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 2 p.m

Don’t miss your chance to take part in one of hockey’s greatest rivalries!

Good luck to all participants! We can’t wait to see your cheers, your kindness, and some lucky Nova Scotia hockey players on the ice for the Rivalry Series showdown in the new year!
